The Other

                     2001 By Philip J. Eggerding

Silver, black, and sparkling white, moistened gold on coat of light.
Creatures in the night are stirred. From the dark, a calling heard.
Barely seen, but greatly sought. Runs too swiftly to be caught.
The Dreamer sought the Other.
Would they see each Other?

Paths go on through upland mist. Canyon walls, tortured, twist.
Wonder where, and wonder when. Wonder how the chase will end?
Beckoned on, and then pursued. Dreamer follows, chase renewed.
The Dreamer saw the Other.
They must meet each Other.

Fleeting glimpses find the two running on to rendezvous.
On they speed, the path now clear. Bridge in view and capture near.
Distance closes, final heat. Strives the Dreamer, goal to meet.
The Dreamer met the Other.
We must hold each Other.

To the bridge's central crest, both are drawn, thus ends the quest.
Finally met, and now entwined. Wrapped together, wondrous find.
Laughing loudly, searcher caught. Finally holding what's been sought.
The Dreamer held the Other.
We must know each Other.

Dancing, circling, spinning round. Caught within the sparkling sound.
Knowledge crossing boundlessly. Dreams unfettered, flowing free.
Fully opened minds are thrilled, and the knowing, wonder-filled.
The Dreamer knew the Other.
We will join each Other.

Shining thoughts are passed in kind. Silent music of the mind.
Auroras flashing round the poles. Rippling sheets of kindred souls.
Emerald Green to Sapphire Blue. Single setting, double jewel.
The Dreamer joined the Other.
We will love each Other.

Feelings flowing, joy unbound. Love's warm currents deeply sound.
Passions flow, like gentlest rain, rich and pure to fertile plain.
Wet and warm, like silver wine, separate rivers now combine.
The Dreamer loved the Other.
We are with each Other.

I know you and you know me. Never two, we now will be.
Male and Female, fond embrace. Gold to Silver, face to face.
Eyes, the lenses of the heart, see their love in counterpart.
The Dreamer and the Other.
We will be the Other.

Soothing warmth and shooting star, bound together, one they are.
Lustrous Love & Luminous Light. Soars the soul to breathless height.
Sweetest reign of destiny. Forever one the two shall be.
The Dreamer was the Other.
We are one-Forever.
